Convergence 2006, the customary training course for captains of yachts up to 24 metres, was held in Rimini from the 20th to 23rd of March.
For furher information:
This course, organised by the Ferretti Group, is now in its third year.
Convergence 2006 was held in Rimini, a town chosen as it is more central than some of the Group’s other important shipyards.
The four-days seminar, which combined theoretical and technical sessions, was even more effective this year owing to visits to the nearby Pershing (Mondolfo) and Ferretti Yachts (Cattolica) shipyards.
Andrea Frabetti, Vice President of the Ferretti Group’s Engineering Department, coordinated the technical talks, an important part of Convergence, particularly those of MTU, ZF, BCS, Radiomarine and Rolla. These companies decided to take on a dual role at this year’s event, acting as both speakers and sponsors.
They dealt with the technical issues of managing a motor yacht in a practical manner and, judging by the number of participants at this year’s "Convergence" (approximately 100), this approach is one of the initiative's success factors.
The Captains also enjoyed visits to the Ferretti Yachts and Pershing shipyards, where the two brands' latest innovations were presented, arousing great enthusiasm.
Lastly, the Captains took part in a training session dealing with navigation and on-board style, given by an important management training school, as well as attending speeches by Ucina and Viareggio Fucina on the use of yachts for commercial purposes and new pleasure-boating professions.
Although the four days were demanding, they were also great fun, and the number of participants – all of whom were presented with a prestigious certificate of attendance – and their obvious satisfaction are tangible proof of the effectiveness of this event. Besides reaffirming the importance of the Ferretti Group on the international panorama of luxury motor yacht design and production, it gives the company an extraordinary opportunity to guarantee its customers a continuing relationship offering high-quality services and attention.
